Slain Afro-fusion musician Achieng' Abura was buried in a tearful ceremony on Saturday, November 5.
The low key burial was attended by family members, close friends and relatives.
Her close friends Suzzane Owiyo, Idi Achieng, Idah Odinga, Hellen Mtawale and business woman Esther Passaris were also present.
Abura was eulogised as a charismatic and courageous person whose songs inspired generations and always put everyone first.
“As artistes, we are united, contrary to reports that we neglected our sister Abura during the fundraisers she held to settle her son’s medical bills. In Abura, we saw humanity and kindness that will surely be missed. She had a hearty laughter, charisma and grace,” said Suzzane Owiyo.
The former Tusker Project Fame judge passed on at the Kenyatta National Hospital on October 20.
She was reportedly suffering from gastritis, kidney problems, and depression.
