The trial of AP officer Erick Makau Musila accused of the murder of his estranged wife and Kalenjin musician Diana Chemutai, alias Chelele, will be held in Kisumu.
Justice Jessie Lesiit on Wednesday directed the case be handled at the High Court in Kisumu.
State counsel Catherine Mwaniki said all witnesses come from Bureti, Kericho County and it would be economical to conduct the trial nearby.
Chelele’s mutilated body was discovered at her home in Bomet two days after her disappearance on January 7.
Musila has failed to take a plea twice as a mob attempted to lynch him while on escort to prison.
Musila’s lawyer Wameyi Makomeri opposed case sittings being held in Nakuru, Naivasha or Eldoret for security reasons.
The case will be mentioned on December 16.
