Kitui Senator David Musila has launched a scathing attack on Governor Dr. Julius Malombe and Former Lands Minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu alleging that they have hatched a plot to spoil votes in his strongholds during the forthcoming general elections.
The senator, who spoke after naming Pennina Malonza, said the two leaders are out to ensure that he does not become the next governor of the area.
“The fact that my competitors, Julius Malombe and [Charity Ngilu] picked their running mates from my home, Mwingi region, to spoil my votes, makes Kitui South the battleground,” he said.
The senator also said that the two leaders are ready to splash a lot of money during the campaigns to win the support of the residents, adding that he is not afraid of them.
“They will come here with roaring choppers once their real campaigns kick off to convince you to vote for them,” Musila said. The legislator further accused Malombe of shortchanging Malonza, arguing that he (county boss) had appointed someone else to take up his position.
“It is sad she was a nominal deputy governor while her work and responsibilities had been taken by another person. That will not happen during my reign,” he said.
