Musila, who was speaking during an exclusive interview with Citizen, said that he is not happy with the way leaders aligned to the alliance are treating independent candidates who have agreed to work with Raila and Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka if elected into power.
“NASA has failed by treating independent candidates like their enemies. I have even told them this because during a recent rally in Ukambani only leaders from NASA affiliate parties were allowed to talk,” he said, as quoted by Citizen.
The senator, who walked away from Kalonzo’s Wiper, is contesting for the Kitui governorship in the forthcoming general elections. He has been faulting Kalonzo for having a soft spot for certain candidates while citing Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe who defeated him during nominations.
Musila also denied having endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto after he allegedly praised their performance scoreboard. The senator said: “I did not endorse the president; I said leaders should be chosen based on merits. I am fully supporting NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.”
