Wiper party chairman and Kitui senator David Musila has denied claims of intimidating and discriminating against some party members as being speculated by some politicians.
Musila says that those spreading the claims that he is intimidating them only want to tarnish his name.
According to Musila, some members want to bring him down and are opposed to his bid for the Kitui gubernatorial seat in the 2017 elections.
The Wiper chair says that he has never intimidated any member at any time.
“Those claiming that I am intimidating them have a hidden agenda which is to tarnish my name as Kitui senator and as Wiper chairman,” he said on Monday during a press briefing with journalists in Nairobi.
Musila said that he will not be cowardice by people who he claims are opposed to party strategies.
The Kitui senator noted that Wiper party respects the interests and welfare of every member.
On Saturday some MCAs led by Kitui nominated MCA Colleta Kimanzi accused the Wiper chair of intimidating some party members.
The MCA alleged that the Wiper chairman is favoring some members against others in the party.
Pressure has been piling for Musila to relinquish his position as Wiper chairman since he has declared interest in the Kitui gubernatorial seat.
Some Wiper members want Musila to quit his position in the party to avoid conflict of interest.
Musila has declared interest to unseat Kitui governor Julius Malombe in the forthcoming 2017 elections.
