Former Kitui Senator David Musila who unsuccessfully contested for the Kitui governor seat and declared support for Jubilee has shocked his supporters by declaring that he will not vote in today's repeat presidential poll.

Musila who has been leading UhuRuto re-election campaigns in Kitui took to his facebook page saying that he won't be voting.

The former Kalonzo Musyoka ally has been calling on the Kamba community to vote for president Uhuru Kenyatta in today's repeat poll.

"I regret to announce that I won’t vote tomorrow (today). That’s my democratic right,” he allegedly wrote on his Facebook page as quoted by the Kituionline.com.

Musila's statement  could be interpreted as backtracking on his resolve to support President Uhuru Kenyatta re-election.

The former senator declared his support for Jubilee after losing in the August 8 election.

Eligible Kenyans across the country are voting in the repeat presidential poll today.

However, voting has started in a slow pace in majority of NASA strongholds where voters have been told to boycott the poll.

On Wednesday,  NASA leader Raila Odinga urged supporters to boycott the poll but conduct peaceful vigils.

Odinga also announced that NASA has transformed to a National Resistance Movement (NRM).
