Former Kitui Senator David Musila has said that the Former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga’s move to transform National Super Alliance (NASA) into a resistance movement is not good for the nation’s economy.
Musila, who unsuccessfully contested for the Kitui governorship seat, said that the nation needs peace, adding that Raila’s recent move is likely to the nation back to the old days.
But Mwingi and Migwani Jubilee leaders criticised the decision during the rerun on Thursday after voting at Migwani AIC Primary School.
"Our country needs peace during and after the election. The movement is aimed at economic sabotage and destroying gains," said former Kitui Senator, as quoted by The Star.
The sentiments of the politician were reiterated by Mwende Mwinzi, Jubilee Party's chief agent in Mwingi West constituency, who said that Raila wants to destroy this nation because of his selfish interests. Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago also criticized Raila‘s call for resistance against the current leadership, saying it is ill-timed and ill-driven.
''The only people who fought from the forest are our forefathers, who were fighting for independence. This one by NASA is ill-motivated," said the county boss.
