Kitui governor Julius Malombe has accused Senator David Musila of allegedly blackmailing Wiper Party  leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Malombe alleges that Musila is working with some Wiper defectors to blackmail Kalonzo.

Speaking at Mwingi Town on Monday, Malombe claimed that Musila is working with Jubilee operatives to undermine Kalonzo’s bid for presidency in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

“Musila should come clean and explain the relationship he has with some Wiper defectors who decamped to Jubilee party last year,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Malombe claimed that Musila’s heart is not in the Kalonzo Musyoka led Wiper party.

The Kitui governor at the same time rubbished Musila’s recent endorsement by a section of MPs and MCAs to contest for the Kitui governor seat in the August 8 general election.

Malombe claimed that the endorsement was fake adding that Musila’s quest for a direct nomination in Wiper will not work.

Musila has however denied blackmailing Kalonzo saying that he is in Wiper Party to stay.

“I have no idea of what Malombe is talking about and my bid for Kitui governor will not be shaken,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

Musila and Malombe have been expanding jibes recently over the Kitui gubernatorial seat.

The Wiper party chairman alleges that Kalonzo has endorsed Malombe for re-election as governor, claims the Wiper leader has refuted saying that aspirants eyeing seats on Wiper ticket will be endorsed through party nominations which he says will be free and fair.

A section of Wiper party rebels led by Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu have been urging Musila to quit Kalonzo’s party if wants to vie for the Kitui gubernatorial seat.

Mutambu claims that Kalonzo has already endorsed Malombe’s re-election for the Kitui governor seat.
