It is time for the people of Ukambani to realign themselves with a ruling government, former Kitui Senator David Musila has said.
Speaking when he welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for a campaign rally in Kitui County, Musila said the community was tired of being in the Opposition because they were 'suffering'.
"There is nothing to show in terms of development for all those years we have been in the opposition. We want development and we know we cannot get that from the Opposition and their demonstrations," he said speaking at Zombe Trading Centre on Monday.
Speaking at the same rally, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko urged the community to shun NASA because they have no agenda for the country.
"Let the Kamba not be misled to support calls by NASA to boycott the polls. On October 26, let's all turn out to vote for Uhuru who has a proven track record of development," Sonko said.
The rally was also attended by MPs Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East) and former lawmakers Joe Mutambu (Mwingi Central) and John Munuve (Mwingi North).
The leaders vowed to conduct intensive campaigns to ensure Kenyatta wins with a landslide.
