Senator David Musila’s future in the political arena remains uncertain after he opted to defect from Wiper Party following his loss during nominations.

Musila, who garnered 74,308 against Governor Dr Julius Malombe’s 88,382 votes, said that he will consult his people before he decides his next move in the political arena.

Despite keeping a spirited fight, Musila has fought several battles in the recent past after he announced that he wants to unseat Malombe.

The legislator has faulted Wiper boss for being behind his fall. Speaking during his resignation, the senator said that he does not find any reason to continue serving the party or being a member if it has democracy.

"I regret that I find my position as chair untenable. I have tendered my resignation as the chair," Musila said. The Senator also said that he is not ready to rally the electorate behind Malombe because he has not been backing either.

"I cannot support a person who can't support me. I saw this coming I even protested his preference of Malombe it is a trend that has been established in Makueni, Kitui and Machakos," Musila added.

Musila is likely to considered retirement. A number of leaders including the incumbent Malombe have been asking him to retire from active politics because he is too old.
