Muslim clerics in Garissa have raised concern over the increasing number brothels in the town.

The clerics have questioned the purpose of uninhibited buildings found in some part of town which is frequently visited by boys and girls secretly. 

According to one of the clerics who identified himself as Sheik Hassan, the visitors of those building engage fornication and adultery which are contrary to the teaching of the Islamic religion.

"It is very disheartening to see the young generations who were poised to develop their religion and region indulging illicit acts. The trend which we are seeing as cleric of this region is not promising, and prompt action has to be taken to get rid of these promiscuous acts being practiced by teenagers of this region," said sheik Hassan.

The cleric has further urged the leaders of the region to intervene and devise practicals solutions to end the vices that are corrupting the teenager 's morality.

The clerics have also put on notice the proprietors of those buildings for promoting promiscuity and fornication, saying their days were numbered.
