Muslims will today (Friday) hold prayers for Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to overcome his recent problems with the national government. Speaking during a meeting with Sheikhs on Thursday, Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) Mombasa Chairman, Abdallah Mohamed said they will conduct prayers in all the mosques across the county to pray for the governor to remain steadfast following increased attacks from the Jubilee administartion. Mohamed said the prayers will be conducted at the Caltex grounds in Likoni.“We have met here today in order to plan for prayers to seek Allah’s intervention in the problems that have affected Governor Joho of late,” he said. Mohamed also said that Joho’s problems are no longer political but personal.“We saw the issues that surrounded Governor Joho at first as political but they seem to be personal by leaning on one person which to us is not fair at all,” said Sheikh Mohamed. The prayers come a day after the High court barred Joho from withdrawing Sh37m from his six Stanbic bank accounts.
