The clash between England’s Liverpool and Spain’s Real Madrid took place on the night of Saturday 26 May 2018.

However, this didn’t go well with some Muslim players in both teams who had to ask for permission from their Imams to skip the fasting exercise on that day.

It could have been unfortunate for the players with Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Emre Can being affected, while Real Madrid could have had their coach, Zinedine Zidane, their striker Benzema and Achraf Hakimi affected.

By good luck, they were excused from the fasting exercise which could have given them only 52 minutes to eat before starting the game.

Here are the six people who skipped the Ramadhan Fasting Rule on Champions League Final:

1. Zinedine Zidane – Real Madrid and France

2. Benzema - Real Madrid and France

3. Achraf Hakimi - Real Madrid and Morocco

4. Mohammed Salah – Liverpool and Egypt

5. Sadio Mane – Liverpool and Senegal

6. Emre Can – Liverpool and Germany

Here are Kenyans reactions:

Mofireeee: We will do everything including skipping the #ramadhanfastingrule to win the CL Cup. Go Salah! Go Mane! Go Firmino

brann senje: itabidi tuvunje rule kuunda historia. We shall revisit later on.

faith nandwa: even with fasting, we will still win the CL Cup as team #neverwalkalone
