The scholars have asked Kenyans living in these areas to allow their security personnel in the nation to do their job in a bid to fight the Al Shabaab terror group.
On Wednesday, The East African Sufi Council on Wednesday said that the security personnel have what it takes to ensure this nation is secure and there is peace across the nation before, during and after the August General elections.
“We are not security experts. We don’t know anything about security. So we cannot say whether or not we support the curfew. What we know is that the security forces are doing their job and we should let them do it,” Chairman Sheikh Abdulkadir Adnan Alahdal said, as quoted by Star.
The scholars were speaking at a meeting attended by Muslim clerics to promote peace. Jubilee’s Mombasa governor nominee Suleiman Shahbal, who also attended the meeting, asked the youths and leaders to preach peace as we head to the elections.
The council is also expected to hold different meetings in Garissa, Moyale and Marsabit.
