The Muslim community should vote in next Thursday’s repeat presidential election.

This is according to the Kenya Muslims National Advisory Council.

Through chairman Sheikh Juma Ngao, KMNAC said that they should do this as the only way to end political tensions in the country.

Ngao said that voting is a democratic right of every citizen and that it should not be denied under any circumstances.

“All Muslims should vote on October 26. All Kemnac heads in all the counties should prepare Muslims to vote in their areas,” he told the Star on the phone.

The chairman pointed an accusing finger at both NASA and Jubilee alliances, accusing them of creating an unhealthy political environment in the country.

“Let people vote. The IEBC has not said there will be no election. No one has gone to court to dispute the election date,” he said.

“Currently, the President cannot hire and fire. He is a caretaker President because he has not been sworn in,” he said.
