Kalimoni Ward MCA Joel Githii Waichere donated a New Year gifts to Juja Muslims in Kalimoni to help improve lives of orphans and less privileges among them.
The gifts which included clothes and foodstuffs are meant to remember the less privileges that are neglected in the society and have no one to turn to this festive season.
The MCA who was at the Juja Mosque on Wednesday said that he is determined to support every resident regardless of religious affiliations which, according to him, has brought about hatred between Christianity and Islam.
“People voted for me to serve all Kalimoni Ward residents despite their different religious backgrounds in the area,” said Waichere.
He also said that not all Muslims are terrorists and Kenyans should embrace them instead of turning against them and pointing fingers at them.
Waichere condemned the Al-Shabaab militias saying that some of those suspected terrorists who have been arrested were Christians.
He also condemned the previous closure of Mosques at the Coastal region saying it was infringing rights to worship for the Muslims.
Waichere further requested the Muslims to work hand in hand with the authority to hasten security in the region which, according to him, has been on the decline for the past few months.
“My Muslim brothers you should lead by example and clear the names other Kenyans have branded on you as terrorists and prove to them that you are innocent,” added Waichere.
