Muslim families in Kenya across the 290 constituencies have benefited from food donations from Direct Aid.
The Muslim non-governmental charitable organisation worked in collaboration with the Kuwait embassy in Kenya to give out these donations.
While presenting the donation to Kenya on Friday, Kuwait Ambassador to Kenya, Qusai Al Farhan and the organisation's managing director, Ismael Hassan said the program is aimed at feeding impoverished families during this Holy month of Ramadhan.
The Garissa Township MP, Aden Duale who received the donation on behalf of the Muslim community thanked Direct Aid for their support.
"We thank the Kuwait government for its development assistance through The African Muslim Agency," Duale said.
Also present in the event that took place at the Kuwait Kenyan Embassy in Nairobi were, Garissa County senator Yusuf Hajj, deputy national majority leader, Naomi Shabaan, Muslim leaders and Islamic scholars.
