Muslims from all walks of life in Kibera, gathered at different mosques for prayers after fasting for the holy month of Ramadhan.
The faithful gathered in prayer as they prepared for the Eid ul Fitr celebrations.
Suleiman Juma, youth leader at Masjid Alaqsa mosque located at Karanja urged all Muslims to celebrate in a peaceful way by tolerating each other and helping the unfortunate in the society during the celebration.
He said the celebrations will be held on Thursday should mark unity among the Muslim community and the rest of believers.
“I would like to call upon the government to provide tight security during these celebrations to avoid any kind of attackers,” he said.
The government has also assured the faithful that the security will be high especially in restaurants, malls and entertainment grounds.
