Muslim have been urged to embrace education and reduce existing prejudices and misconceptions about them.

CIPK Uasin Gishu County chairman Abubakar Bini said Muslims are regarded as terrorist because most of them have not gone to school.

"Education is one of the most important activities that shape human beings and community at large. Muslims have been left behind because they lack education," he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.

"An educated person has more chances of social mobility from the peasantry to either the middle classes skilled working class. There is no reason to deny a child education since the government is offering free and compulsory primary education," he added.

He reiterated that education contributes not only to the personal reflection but also heightens respect for the beliefs of others.

"I want to call upon our Muslim brothers and sisters to take their children to school since it is the only investment that a parent can leave room his heirs," noted Bini.
