Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Nassir has urged Muslims to seize the opportunity of the Holy Month of Ramadan to offer prayers for peace, unity, stability and rapid socio- economic development in the nation.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Nassir pleaded with Muslims to remain sanctified and be guided by the doctrine stipulated in the Quran.
"Ramadhan is here. We thank the Almighty for the blessing of another holy month of blessings, clemency and enlightenment. I urge all Kenyans to pray for peace. Let us build on our unity despite our background differences," read the post in part.
"Kenya is one with our unifying colours of black, green, red and white. Let us keep the hope alive for a brighter Kenya. The future generations will be shaped by our actions today," he added.
Ramadan is observed by Muslims around the world who fast for a month to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad, according to Islamic beliefs.
