Muslim leaders are now asking the National Super Alliance (NASA) to stop holding their weekly demonstrations on Fridays.
Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) chairman Sheikh Abubakar Bini says NASA demos were infringing on their faithfuls' right to worship.
"Most of our people especially in areas where protests are held on Fridays are usually unable to reach Mosques because roads are always closed most of the times and this in some way infringes on their constitutional right," Sheikh Bini said on Tuesday.
"It is with this reason that we want to ask NASA leadership to look for another day they can hold their protests because they also have a right to that," he added.
The CIPK chairman further expressed concerns destruction of properties that has been witnessed during the protests in several parts across the country.
NASA has declared that they will continue holding anti-IEBC demonstrations every Monday, Wednesday and Friday even after their presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka withdrew from the repeat presidential election that had been set for October 26.
