Musyoka, who has periodically demanded for support from his opposition partners is contemplating going alone in August polls, reports the Daily Nation.

But the veteran leader is facing major revolt from senators Mutula kilonzo (Makueni), David Musila (Kitui) and Jonhstone Muthama (Machakos).

"People are misadvising Musyoka that he can run separately to deny both Jubilee and opposition an outright majority, therefore forcing a runoff," Kilonzo said.

Musila said: "If our party leader to run the presidential race on his own outside the opposition umbrella, he will go that route alone."

And Muthama was at one point accused by Kalonzo of supposedly working with Siaya Senator James Orengo to impose Raila Odinga as the opposition flag bearer.

Also, former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile on Monday claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is working hard to see Musyoka on ballot as a mega plan to block Odinga's victory.
