In an interview on Radio Maisha Tuesday, the former National Assembly Deputy Speaker maintained that the party remains committed to achieving its goals, uninterrupted with the pending disintegration of the former Premier Raila Odinga-led coalition.

He said that the party's win in the Kitui West parliamentary race on Monday is proof that the bloc is steady, saying that it is now concentrating on propelling its party leader and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to the presidency.

''Our future is clear and promising. We are strong and committed to our course and our victory in the Kitui West parliamentary contest can prove that we are unshaken by the current wrangles in our alliance,'' said the former Lagdera lawmaker.

He added that Wiper is keen on further nourishing itself to make it more relevant ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Maalim disclosed that the party will be open to political negotiations soon, in preparation for the anticipated contest.

''We are currently working on gaining more relevance and will soon be ready for negotiations with other blocs and alliances,'' he added.
