Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has once again advised Raila Odinga on how he can win 2017 elections and inspire life once again in CORD.
In the recent days, Cord Co-principals Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have been piling massive pressure on Raila Odinga to step down in their favour in the presidential race.
Mutahi came up with 'Scarcity Theory of Politics', in this theory the political analyst states that in politics it is always about who gets what, when and how.
"Politics is who gets what, when and how. The important part of that definition is the 'getting' and we must not be apologetic about the 'getting' not in the sense of our turn to eat but in the sense of why are we getting into politics or of what use is it to us," said Ngunyi.
"So when people are invited into coalitions they must be told why they are getting in, but if we lie to ourselves that we are doing it for the love of country and peace we will only degenerate into a situation of confrontation," said Ngunyi.
"That's why in a situation where there is a scarcity of positions like in this election you end up distributing illusions and hope that you will not be able to fulfill," he added.
Ngunyi, therefore, urged Raila to act with speed since the competition that he so desires from his co-principals has degenerated into a conflict.
"Scarcity politics in Cord has now degenerated from competition to conflict and this is made manifest in 3 obvious ways: one, Soft cannibalisation, where Wetangula tells Raila that he has become politically impotent, two, blind ambition, Wetangula demonstrate this by terming Raila politically impotent and him the able man, three, political hallucinations, and the man suffering from this is Raila Odinga, who is stopping far too low by abandoning the battlefield and going for soldiers who have deserted him," said Ngunyi.
Hence, Ngunyi has advised Raila to champion changes in the structure of the national executive which only requires a two-thirds majority in the parliament. By so doing they can create several positions which include President, Deputy President, Prime Minister, and two deputy prime ministers.
"But for this particular project to run, it needs a champion and there cannot be a better person to push this idea but Raila Amolo Odinga, this idea was originally his which he abandoned in Naivasha," said Ngunyi.
The Analyst exuded confidence that if Raila will push for the creation of the Prime minister position through a parliamentary process to counter-leadership position scarcity he will even be supported by Jubilee Party MPs.
"I am very sure that the JP parliamentarians will support him. This is the kind of bill that you put in the parliament in the morning and by afternoon it is done because it serves the good of the nation and politicians and ultimately it is the winning formulae for this election," said Ngunyi.
