Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has regretted taking part in the restructuring of the National Youth Service through his company.
According to Ngunyi, his effort to transform NYS by his 5-point vision to a more viable economic hub for Kenyan youth was hijacked by corrupt individuals.
The 5-pointers had a well-thought-out idea on how to clean up Nairobi slums to end the culture of 'flying toilet'-where residents use polythene bags to answer longs calls in areas lacking proper latrines.
"As a person who restructured NYS, I wish to confirm to the country I am guilty. I'm guilty of thinking I could liberate young people from the poverty of dignity," he said.
Ngunyi said that part of his plan was to enable youths to establish savings in banks.
"But this dream of the liberation of poverty was stolen from the youth of Kibra and from NYS. And every crime committed and life lost as a result of this theft must be placed squarely in the hands of politicians who stole this dream," he said.
Mutahi Ngunyi's company was at the center of the first scandal at the service.
