Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi. Photo/the-star.co.kePolitical analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has submitted in his latest hypothesis that August 8 presidential election will involve choosing between two options; politics and leadership.
In the hypothesis Ngunyi equates Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga to politics while saying that President Uhuru equals leadership.
He says that leadership is about vision while politics is about drama and 'kitendawili' jokes.
"The choice before us is not a choice between two individuals. It is a choice between two ideas. It is a choice between political jokes such as 'Raila na mpira' and economic transformation as represented by SGR.
"It is a choice between a lord of poverty who sees nothing positive in Kenya and a well meaning president who is easily bullied for trying," says Ngunyi.
Ngunyi then goes ahead to pose a question to country on who between Uhuru and Raila represents continuity and who represents change to which he answers:
"This country has been fed on politics without leadership for decades and to vote for politics, therefore is to vote for continuity but to vote for leadership is to vote for change in my view. What this country needs is leadership not politics," he adds.
