Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has promised to repay excess money that was paid to his company for consulting for the National Youth Service.

In a letter addressed to Devolution Cabinet Secretary , Ngunyi said the The Consulting House board had instructed him to carry out an audit to determine whether the company received excess money.

"If it is true that we received excess money, we will institute a speedy refund of the excess payment to the Treasury," reads part of the letter.

Ngunyi also called on the CS to investigate how the excess payment was done without a dully signed invoice from his company adding that he wants to protect its reputation.

"We request you to investigate how the excess money was done without a duly signed invoice from The Consulting House," Ngunyi said.

The letter comes barely a month after the Auditor-General Edward Ouko revealed that Ngunyi was paid Sh12.5 million more than was due to him for developing a strategy for the NYS restructuring.
