[Photo/Daily Nation] Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has indicated that the next presidential election will be conducted early January, 2018.This is following the withdrawal of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) leadership led by Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka from the October 26 fresh presidential poll.Ngunyi however noted that the fresh election might not be conducted if Raila did not withdraw his candidacy using form 24A.According to the political analyst, failure to use the form will mean that Nasa's withdrawal from the contest is null and void."If Raila did not withdraw using Form 24A, his withdraw is null and void. A letter is not enough. If he used 24A, election is 10th Jan 2018," said Ngunyi on a twitter post, Tuesday.During their withdrwal on Tuesday, the two principals cited lack of good political will from both the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Jubilee party. The duo called on IEBC to cancel the election and conduct fresh nominations as provided for in the Elections Act 2011, section 13(1).
