Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has added his voice onto the ongoing debate surrounding the legality of President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure after 60 days of the Supreme Court ruling that annulled his win.Whereas many legal experts argue that there will be a constitutional crisis should the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) fail to conduct elections within 60 days of the historic Supreme Court ruling, Ngunyi is of a contrary opinion.According to Ngunyi, the argument that there will be a constitutional crisis is wrong and that as such, there will be no transitional government."Githu Muigai is DEAD RIGHT. There WILL BE NO Transitional Government. End of DISCUSSION! Those who DON'T like it can SIT on a PIN," said Ngunyi in a post on Twitter.Ngunyi’s remarks support Attorney General Githu Muigai's earlier statement during his press briefing on a 'looming' constitutional crisis.“Any attempt to form government outside the constitution is illegitimate and there is nothing like transitional government. The sitting president will remain in power until the new one is sworn in. That is the basic interpretation of our constitution,” said Muigai. In his address on Wednesday, NASA lead Counsel James Orengo had warned that the country may be headed for a constitutional crisis should IEBC fail to conduct elections within 60 days of the Supreme Court ruling.
