Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has for the first time since the nullification of the presidential election spoken, sending a message to President Uhuru Kenyatta before the next polls.
On his Youtube channel, the renown political analyst, famous for his tyranny of numbers analogy, tells Kenyatta that he will be to blame incase the country goes up in flames.
“It is a fact that Raila is a jobless man. The job is with you sir. If the country snaps, we will not forgive you sir. The sovereign will of the people is in your custody. You must establish homogeny,” he says in his letter.
In what seemed as an attack on the Judiciary after the Supreme ruling, Ngunyi said the courts had taken the country ‘for a ride’ in their ruling.
“The solution is to disobey the rule of bad law, in my view. No progress in the world has happened without disobeying the rule of bad law. This is called civil disobedience. If Maraga rulings degenerate into the rule of bad law, Uhuru Kenyatta must break them, unapologetically. And he must break them in the name of the sovereign will of the people,” Ngunyi concluded.
In the lengthy clip, the analyst further talks about the 'coup' (in reference to President Kenyatta's sentiments that the judiciary had successfully pulled a coup by nullifying his win), and the phases in which it will take place.
Kenyans have continued to react to the letter, with many agreeing with his sentiments.
He has, however, been attacked by those allied to Raila Odinga and the Nasa coalition in general, who feel the analyst is leaning towards the Jubilee Party.
