Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama has finally been grilled by national cohesion and integration commission officials over the alleged hate remarks he made in Busia county last week.
The embattled senator declined to be questioned by the NCIC officials saying that the commission is being used by the government to frustrate opposition leaders.
The senator who was accompanied by his lawyer James Orengo insisted that the claims against him cannot be substantiated.
He was ordered to appear again today. Muthama is being questioned over the utterances he made while attending a rally for Busia women rep Florence Mutua.
The two leaders are among the Pangani and Muthaiga six. They were locked in police custody over the same charges of hate mongering.
