Speaking at Taito Village in Kitale during the burial of the late Jennifer Masis who was until her death a Wiper party women leader and political aspirant, Muthama said that Kalonzo deserved their support owing to his past support for the former President Daniel Moi in past.

He further noted that Kalonzo and the late Mulu Mutisya were the two Ukambani leaders who faithfully supported former President Moi during his time thus it is only fair for the Kalenjin nation return the loyalty accordingly.

“We all witnessed Kalonzo and Mulu Mutisya stand with President Moi for twenty-four years in his political era. I am now asking you to return the favour when Kalonzo comes to ask for your votes for the presidency come 2017,” said Muthama.

The senator further challenged the community to be less concerned about the immediate gains that  may come with their supporting Kalonzo but be concerned with the unity of the nation as a whole.
