Machakos senator Johnson Muthama has asked parties affiliated to the National Super Alliance (NASA) and supporters to remain patient as the technical committee mandated to unveil the alliance flag bearer concludes its report.

Speaking during an interview on Milele FM on Monday, Muthama says that speculations among NASA affiliate parties and supporters that a candidate has been already endorsed are hindering the committee work.

The Machakos senator observed that the heat in the committee is too high saying that the committee will soon unveil the procedures to be used in picking the flag bearer.

“The heat in the NASA technical committee is too much but we are coping and we will soon provide procedures of endorsing a flag bearer,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Muthama warned that speculation in regards to the NASA flag bearer is a threat to the alliance’s unity.

The Machakos senator further dismissed claims that some members in the technical committee are undermining chances of certain presidential aspirants.

He said that the committee is neutral and will give its recommendations without bias.

Senator Muthama has been accused by as a section of Wiper leaders of allegedly undermining Kalonzo Musyoka's presidential bid in the NASA committee.

Kalonzo’s allies have been claiming that Muthama is favoring ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The vocal Machakos senator has however dismissed the claims saying that Kalonzo has equal chances of being endorsed just like other candidates.
