Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama has called for unity among Ukambani residents.
Addressing locals at Machakos town on Monday, Muthama said that time has come for Ukambani to produce their own.
He said that the region has been for a long time neglected when it comes to national leadership.
“Time has come for Ukambani leaders and residents to unite and spearhead development,” he said.
Muthama noted that every leader in the region must support unity calls and development. The Machakos Senator added that without unity the region will continue to lag behind.
He appealed to area youths to be on the frontline and demand for change. He observed that young people have the power to decide adding that they must use their large numbers to seek change.
Muthama at the same time asked the Machakos government to address the issues facing the people.
The senator asserted that many locals cannot access basic services adding that the county must up its game and provide services.
Muthama noted that Machakos has resources and funds that should be use to improve the lives of the people.
