Former Machakos senator Johnston Muthama has criticized an incident in which some members of the Kamba community were attacked in Kirinyaga County recently.
The incident where houses owned by the Kambas were burnt, according to Muthama is a continuation of profiling of some communities in the country.
Muthama who spoke in Tala, Machakos said the government should play its role of ensuring that every Kenyan is safe wherever they are in the country.
He said the victims whose houses had been torched are now homeless.
Muthama said the Devolution Ministry should speedily intervene into the matter by providing the affected families with basic needs like food, clothing and shelter.
"The government should immediately intervene and end land wrangles," the former senator, who is a close ally of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said.
"No Kenyan should be allowed to attack the other. We should all strive to live as one," Muthama added.
Muthama linked the attacks to national politics stating those attacked suffered because they did not vote for leaders supported by majority of the Kirinyaga locals.
He said Machakos County, where he comes from will remain open to Kenyans from all regions.
Muthama said despite what happened, any Kenyan who wants to live or do business in Machakos should feel free to go to the county led by Governor Alfred Mutua.
