Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama on Sunday said that the National Super Alliance (NASA) will not accept the results if the August election is rigged.

Speaking during a rally at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru, Muthama warned the Jubilee administration against manipulating the electoral process.

“This country is not ready for another rigged election. Kenyans will not accept it,” Muthama said daring the government to arrest him for making the declaration.

“I want to tell Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery that he should not oversee a stolen election. As Kenyans, we will not accept,” he added.

The Opposition led by its presidential candidate Raila Odinga has repeatedly said that mass protests would be inevitable if August elections were rigged.

“In 2013 they used NIS, the KDF, police and civil servants are now enlisted in the same. But we want to warn them that this time round, things will be bad in Kenya if a single vote is stolen,” warned Raila speaking at the Funika grounds, Mtwapa in January.

However, the electoral body, IEBC, has pledged a free, fair, credible and transparent election on August 8.

“Our short-term goal is to deliver a free, fair and credible election which is 200 days away,” said IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati in his acceptance speech after being sworn.

While visiting the United Kingdom last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that Kenya was committed to free, fair and peaceful elections, and business was unlikely to be affected by the process.

“We are looking forward to a peaceful process. Business should not be impacted by the process. You should keep your money and faith in our country,” the Head of State said on Thursday.
