[Photo: Courtesy]After falling out with his Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos senator Johnston Muthama is back in National Super Alliance (Nasa).Muthama who deputises Nasa chief campaigner Musalia Mudavadi, made his first appearance in Nasa rally, Saturday July 1, held at the green stadium, Bomet County.The Senate Minority Whip announced withdrawal of his support from Kalonzo, the Ukambani political kingpin, after Wiper nominated former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti as the Machakos governor candidate, leaving out deputy governor Benard Kiala.According to Muthama, Kalonzo was interfering with normal running of the party, and caused the defection of party chairman Kitui senator David Musila, who is now vying for the county's governor seat as an Independent Candidate.Muthama further announced he would not defend his seat if Wavinya remains the Machakos County Wiper governor candidate, since he could not work with her, same way he has not been working with incumbent governor Dr Alfred Mutua.He however announced his support for Raila Odinga, as the Nasa presidential candidate.Since then, at least two months now, Muthama's absence in Nasa rallies has been raising eyebrows, with Kalonzo at some point telling supporters, Muthama was unavailable because he was caught up in campaign plans.His presence in Bomet possibly indicates that he is back to work.
