Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has faulted Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama following the latter's decision to ditch Wiper Party over "dictatorship in the party's top leadership."

Speaking on Tuesday, the legislator said it was hypocritical for Muthama to label Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka a dictator when the Senator has been intimidating other leaders.

“A good example was in 2013 when he cost the party several parliamentary seats in the county because of his dictatorial style of leadership,” Mbui said.

Muthama, who has been a key ally to Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced his defection from the party earlier in the week, accusing the party's top brass of imposing candidates on the electorate.

“A culture of killing democracy has emerged in our party and repression has been promoted. The party leader has been imposing candidates and ensuring that by hook or crook, these people become Wiper candidates,” he noted.
