In a rare show and pull from his usual rabble-rousing calls, NASA leader Raila Odinga has called on his supporters to stop revenging on “innocent supporters of Uhuru and Ruto”.Speaking in from his home county in Bondo, Raila said Kikuyus and Kalenjins are suffering like other Kenyans and attacking them won’t help bring a solution to the problems in the country. For the first time in many years, Raila also demanded that his supporters stop attacking Somalis and Kisiis because of the actions of their leaders.Raila, who struck a reconciliatory tone reiterated that there will be no elections next week dismissing what will happen as ‘just a coronation’ of Uhuru as President. However, former Senator Johnstone Muthama and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho seemed to water down Raila’s call for peace.Muthama said they will swear in Raila as President if the elections goe on and Uhuru is sworn in as president. He asked Uhuru to stop the execution of innocent Luos because he wants to retain power.Joho threatened that Mombasa will also have no elections since it will just be a blessing of electoral theft. Raila’s parallel Mashujaa Day event was meant to mourn those killed after the elections and during the anti-IEBC demonstrations.
