Machakos senator Johnson Muthama has promised those micromanaging Wiper a tough time come August. The senator has said he will not defend his seat but campaign for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Muthama complained about favoritism in the party. He accused the party management of having preferred aspirants. The rampant injustices and irregular nominations led to numerous complaints during the primaries.

"I regret the way Wiper is being micro-managed to the disadvantage of some party members. My decision was influenced by the way Wiper affairs are being conducted. As I contemplate my next move, I assure there will be a bruising political battle in Ukambani and that the voice of the people will be heard," Muthama said as quoted by the Star.

The outspoken senator faulted Wiper for dishing out direct tickets selectively. According to Muthama, this amounts to betrayal of the electorates. He used the example of the current governor Dr. Alfred Mutua and Wiper candidate for the same seat in August Wavinya Ndeti as a choice of the party top management as opposed to people’s choice.

"Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and CCU leader Wavinya Ndeti were given tickets while others were left to go through nominations which were marred by irregularities," he said.
