Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama in a past event. He has maintained that he will not vie for any elective position in favor of Raila Odinga
Machakos senator Johnston Muthama has come out clear on the reason behind his decision to neither defend his seat nor go for another slot in the August polls.
Speaking while accompanying the opposition alliance NASA top leadership in a vote hunting tour of Kibera in Nairobi Tuesday, the vocal Ukambani leader said that he wants to fully concentrate his attention on ensuring that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is sworn in as Kenya's fifth president after the elections.
‘’I am not vying for any position to ensure that Raila is the next President and to safeguard his votes against those who might be planning to rig him out,’’ said Muthama.
The rally also saw the ruling Jubilee Party find itself on the receiving end with the present leaders bashing it over President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto's allegations that the opposition is interested in a coalition government after sensing defeat with Homabay Women Representative Glady's Wanga maintaining that NASA will win by a large margin come August.
''We are not intrested in a coalition government,we are going to take everything,'' she said.
Jubilee has also been accusing NASA of using the Judiciary to delay the polls out of unpreparedness.
