Supporters of Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama have for the second night braved the cold of the night outside Pangani police station protesting his release who they claim is innocent and is being harassed for his tough political stands.
Speaking to this writer, one of the supporters Herzbon said "We are going to be here until they release our innocent senator, it's sad that the Jubilee government is returning us to the old KANU days but we shall not be moved."
The team has said the case against the senator is political since the charge sheet reads addressing a press conference on Monday June 11 in which the senator was not present.
Muthama's supporters have also started a social media campaign using the tags #ReleaseSenatorMuthama and #IstandWithSenatorMuthama.
This comes a day after legislators visiting the team in prison were denied access to them.
The taking plea of the case of the 8 legislators is scheduled for Friday 17, 2016.
