Former Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama has asked the Kamba community to stop what he termed as unfair attacks on Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
The firebrand politician said failure by Kalonzo to take oath as the People's Deputy President should be blamed on him (Muthama) since he represented Kalonzo in the committee which was responsible for planning the mock swearing-in.
"Kalonzo is not a coward. He is the ultimate savior of the Kamba community and we should therefore back him for the presidency in coming general election,” Muthama said.
Muthama said he was ready to face President Uhuru Kenyatta with a view to seeking his goodwill support to back Kalonzo for the top seat.
The former senator made the remarks while addressing mourners in Matungulu, Machakos County on the weekend.
He said the community risked losing a political kingpin if they continued to despise Kalonzo over his failure to take oath the alongside NASA leader Raila Odinga.
