Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama will for the first time officially visit and conduct a public rally in Athi River town within Mavoko Constituency since he was elected.

This was disclosed by the area Member of County Assembly, Michael Mutua, who said the senator has never visited the ward since he was elected in the last polls.

"Residents of Athi River Ward are very excited since they will officially meet their senator for the first time since he was elected," said Mutua.

Mutua who was speaking during a meeting with section of Jua Kali traders in Athi River town on Friday said the senator will be attending a mass at the First Baptist Church in Athi River town on the Sunday, before conducting a public Rally at Mavoko Stadium in the same town.

He urged the traders among other residents of the ward and Mavoko Constituency in its entirety to be cooperative and turn up in numbers in the rally so as to hear the message which the governor has for them.

The MCA told members of the public especially youth from the region to embrace others of different opinions and ideologies to avoid conflicts during the senator's visit.

Mutua told the youth to be ambassadors of peace always to allow for socio economic growth of the ward and Sub County arguing people might have political differences but still support development projects.

He advised the Jua Kali traders to unite, form groups so that to benefit from public loans, grants and loans offered by various institutions including both public and private banks.
