(Photo/the standard.co.ke)Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has exuded confidence that the push for people's assembly will succeed.Muthama says that NASA is determined to have the assembly work in efforts to push for fresh free fair and credible presidential election.Speaking to journalists in Nairobi on Friday, Muthama said that over 12 million Kenyans who did not vote in the controversial October 26 repeat presidential election are fully behind the people's assembly."President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee government should worry because we have the numbers to push for electoral reforms, fresh election and even secession," he said.The former senator warned Uhuru's government against attempts to frustate NASA's activities saying thay it will face  the wrath of the people."Kenyans are angry and are yearning for change that will liberate them from Jubilee government oppression," he said.The former senator also  warned president Uhuru Kenyatta's government against using the courts and the police to frustrate opposition agenda.He said that the people's assembly will be up and running before the end of the year adding that Kenyans through the assembly will chart the way forward for the country.Muthama hinted that th push for secession is part of the opposition agenda if bid for fresh presidential election hits a snag."We are determined and have ideas on what will happen but we will be guided by the people and the law", he said.On Friday, NASA unveiled a committee to cordinate the push for people's assembly.The seven member committe will be chaired by economist David Ndii.Over 10 pro-NASA counties have so far debated and adopted motions establishing the people's assembly as Jubilee politicians argue that the assemblies are not backed by the law.
