Muthama argues that matters electoral justice and reforms are a must for President Kenyatta in his push to bring Kenyans together.

In an interview with a local daily on Monday, Muthama said that the country cannot unite or reconcile unless serious reforms are carried out.

He said that some Kenyans are still nursing fresh wounds and that President Kenyatta and other leaders must not evade the reforms agenda.

“Our message to President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga and all other leaders who will engage in unitary talks is for them to push for electoral reforms,” he said.

The former senator said that the country’s electoral management needs serious reforms for credible future election.

Muthama also asked President Kenyatta to speed up on the national dialogue and reconciliation.

He said that the delays in initiating unity talks are sending a worrying signal to Kenyans.

Muthama said that the country needs to move forward a united front in order to achieve her development agenda.

There have been concerns about why President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are taking too long to initiate national dialogue weeks after their famous handshake.

A section of politicians allied to the opposition has been reading a ploy in the delay with some of them asking Raila Odinga to denounce the handshake.

The politicians argue that the handshake is suspicious after the government deported Canadian based lawyer Miguna Miguna for the second time.
