Former Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama has said Governor Alfred Mutua snubbed the Kamba Leaders Unity Forum out of insolence.
Muthama claimed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka called the Machakos governor who never picked his (Kalonzo's) calls.
He spoke at Kiamba Primary School in Matungulu, Machakos County on Monday.
"Kalonzo called Mutua on his phone but he didn't pick, he ignored because he is not for unity of the Kamba community," Muthama said.
Muthama said the leaders who failed to attend the forum shouldn't be involved in other community talks since they distanced themselves in the pioneer meeting.
"This meeting is the Noah's ark. When the door has been closed it can't be opened, those who didn't attend should bear that in mind," Muthama said.
However, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana countered Muthama's sentiments stating those who ignored the meeting should not be castigated since they might have genuine reasons for not attending the meeting.
Kibwana said they should be invited over and over in future meetings until they give in and join the rest of the community.
"The Makueni Governor observed that for the Kamba community to be united, leaders from Ukambani region should show unity of themselves first for the community to follow suit.
"You can't preach water and drink wine, as Kamba leaders let's walk the talk," he said.
