Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has warned NASA top leaders against back-tracking on the planned swearing-in.Speaking to journalists in Machakos Town on Saturday, Muthama said that it will be demoralising and a big let down to supporters if NASA top leaders abandon the swearing-in set for January 30.
He said that supporters are ready for Raila's swearing-in which he says must take place as scheduled.
"It is now or never and our plan to swear in Raila and Kalonzo as the people's president and deputy president respectively must go on," he said.Muthama asked NASA principals to iron out any differences among them and ensure that their promise to Kenyans is fulfilled. The former senator said that any attempts to abandon the swearing in will be legitimizing Jubilee's tyranny rule.He said that the country is in a state of poor governance, adding that Jubilee will continue its impunity if NASA gives up.Muthama urged NASA supporters to get ready and come out in large numbers at Uhuru Park on January 30 for Raila's coronation. He said that the country must be liberated from election fraud and impunity that has allegedly been orchestrated by the Jubilee administration.NASA's controversial plan to swear in Raila and Kalonzo is in limbo as claims emerge that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula are against the plan.NASA top leaders will meet tomorrow (Monday) in efforts to set records clear on the planned swearing in that the government has termed illegal and highly treasonous. This comes as pressure continues to mount on the opposition to drop the swearing-in plan and embrace dialogue on reforms agenda.US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec has been pushing both NASA and Jubilee to dialogue over reforms agenda.
