Earlier on, The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision (IEBC) had cleared seven candidates to contest for the seat before Ndunda quit the race. The other candidates still in the race to unseat Dr Susan Musyoka, an Independent candidate includes Wiper candidate Joyce Kamene Kasimbi, Maendeleo Chap Chap aspirant Francisca Mutinda and Jane Ndeti who will be contesting on a Chama Cha Uzalendo seat when that time comes.
Kavindu has exuded confidence that she will beat Musyoka hands during the August election. She has said that she is the best candidate to transform the lives of women, youths and persons living with disabilities if given the mandate to take over power.
Muthama’s wife has also pledged to fight for the rights of various group upon her election into office. She is banking on the support of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to rise to power in August. Kavindu has remained upbeat of victory amidst her family woes.
