Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua on Saturday revealed the reason why he is bent on vying for the presidency in 2022.
Speaking in Makindu, Makueni county, Mutua stated that his main aim is to improve the living standards of the common mwananchi.
He said he plans to develop the country to the fullest and make Kenya a model country.
"My presidential bid is still alive, after my two terms of governorship I will vie for the presidency and be the fifth president of Kenya," Mutua said.
He claimed that his popularity is slowly shooting up and kenya is ready to have a Kamba president who will represent all the tribes.
The county boss noted that other communities want him to develop their region and he cannot do that unless he's in power.
"I visited Kisii and they asked me what my plan was since I can not vie for governorship again. I knew I needed to do something," said Mutua who believes he has the support of different communities and he is best suited to take the country to the next level.
He spoke at Shine star academy where he had attended a fundraising ceremony.
